Potter’s Craft Cider | Dacha Beer Club
March 21 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
“Give me your wild to pour. Your barrel-aged sours yearning to breathe free. The unique one-offs, your crafts of lore. Send these style-bending, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my gaze beside the gated door.”
In 2017, Dacha Beer Garden began an initiative called “Beer Club Wednesdays.” Each Wednesday, the beer garden plays host to a different local or national brewery, meadery or cidery and showcases their beverage creations with tastings and talks given by the brewers and makers themselves.
On Wednesday March 21st, Potter’s will be in the house! We’ll be featuring our Flemish Sour & Pelure de Pomme and Lizzy will be there giving everyone the run down on these special ciders and answering all of your questions to boot.
Flemish Sour Cider – 9.0% ABV
The Flemish Sour starts with a blend of fresh pressed Virginia apples inoculated with the famous Roeselare yeast blend, which is traditionally used in the production of Flemish red ales. The cider is fermented and aged in French oak barrels from our friends at Commonwealth Brewing Company. It then receives a hefty dose of tart Montmorency cherries, adding a definitively tart, fruity note to this dry, funky cider.
Pelure de Pomme – 9 % ABV
Our goal was to produce a cider in the style of a red wine. Most ciders, like most white wines, have minimal skin contact. We fermented this cider on the apple skins. We then soaked the cider on the skins for an extended time to increase extraction of body and tannin. The resulting cider is beautiful– a pronounced expression of the earthy Winesap and the fruity Albemarle Pippins with structured body and a long finish.
