Potter’s Annual Wassail

December 15 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us at the Cidery in Free Union for our 5th Annual Orchard Wassail! We will be drinking cider, singing loudly, and crowning the next Wassail King and Queen. What is wassailing, you might ask? It’s a Medieval Christmastide English drinking tradition, celebrated to ensure a good cider apple harvest for the next year. We’ll drink wassail (hot mulled cider) and sing to the trees!

BRIMS (Blue Ridge Irish Music School) will spread the cheer starting at 2PM, and the 106 Street Food Truck will feed the masses all day. Cider Share Members can also pick up their December share!

Casks of Cider Nouveau and 100% Albemarle Pippin will be tapped in celebration, and we’ve created a cider/Perry blend foraged from old, untended trees around Mint Springs. All proceeds from this cask will benefit The Haven!

As winter progresses, The Haven is in need of hand and foot warmers, razors, deodorant, underwear, and socks. Help them to continue to do great work in our community by donating! A booth will be set up at the Wassail to collect donations.

We hope to see you all out there!
